Judging value

NFTs have no cash flow, so classic valuation fails. What remains is reading market behaviour and utility.

The numbers and what they hide

Floor price is the best known and least reliable figure; use the 30-day median sale price instead.

Volume can be inflated by wash trading — compare unique buyers with transaction count.

Holder distribution says the most: heavy concentration means one seller can break the market.

Rarity and utility

Rarity commands a premium inside a collection, but evaporates when the collection falls out of fashion.

Utility is more durable: access, income, governance or a service worth having without speculation.

Creator track record matters as much as the artwork.

Realistic maths

Fees hit twice, on entry and exit, and easily consume 5–10% of a small position.

Assume a slow sale and a discount to asking price in illiquid collections.

Size the position as high-risk money you can lose entirely.
