Buying and storing
Buying an NFT is technically easy, but the common mistakes are expensive and irreversible.
Preparation: wallet and network
Pick the network the collection lives on; buying on the wrong chain cannot be undone.
Use two wallets: a daily one for signing and a hardware wallet for valuable pieces.
Keep enough native coin for fees — without it you cannot even sell.
Buying without the classic traps
Verify the contract address through an official project source, never a chat link. Fake collections are the most common scam here.
Compute the total: price, marketplace fee, creator royalty and network fees.
Check liquidity before buying; thin collections take weeks to exit.
Storing and managing
Move valuable pieces to cold storage and sign from there only when selling.
Revoke marketplace approvals you no longer use.
Keep records: date, euro amount, transaction hash and licence.
