Licensed since 2019, EURe is legally electronic money, and each user gets an IBAN so a normal SEPA transfer arrives as an on-chain balance and can be sent back to a bank account.
How the backing works
Client funds are safeguarded in segregated accounts outside the issuer's estate, with no maturity-risk investment portfolio.
Practical use
Payroll and invoices paid on-chain, corporate treasury and euro settlement in decentralised applications. Exchange liquidity is modest; it is stronger as a payment rail than as a trading pair.
Peg and risks
Redemption at par keeps the peg firm; remaining risks are operational, contract-level and network availability.
