Silver miners ETF: equities instead of metal

Buying miners means buying companies, not metal. With largely fixed costs, a rising silver price expands margins faster than the metal moves, and the reverse is equally true.

Operational leverage

At an all-in cost of $20 and a silver price of $25, a move to $30 doubles the margin on a 20% metal move.

Risks physical silver does not carry

Permits, local politics, strikes, ore grades and equity dilution can leave miners behind the metal even in a good market.
